How to make a DIY Isopod/Springtail Culture.
You will need:
- A small container
- Soil
- Sticks
- Moss
- Leaves
- Isopods/Springtails
- Spray bottle
Step 1:
Add your soil to your container. Then add small sticks and clumps of moss as well as some crushed leaves.
Step 2:
Spray down your soil, sticks, moss, and crushed leaves. Mix thoroughly until your mixture somewhat clumps together when squeezed in hand. Add moisture if necessary.
Step 3:
Add whole leaves, sticks, and clumps of moss to surface. Spray water lightly onto surface.
Step 4:
Add Isopods/springtails.
Notes:
Check cultures weekly and add moisture as needed. Feed cultures using extra organic material (moss, leaves, sticks, tree bark.)
